Launch of Neutron Ventures
Neutron Ventures, the incubator founded by serial entrepreneur Maz Darvish, has opened its doors for business. With offices in Charlotte Street, London’s media hub, Neutron has been established to revolutionise the traditional incubator business model in order to build successful online enterprises.
Initially, Neutron will focus on online opportunities within the travel, automotive and lead generation sectors and expects to launch its maiden venture in August 2008.
Unlike traditional incubators and investment houses whose models are generally based on minority equity participation in a large number of projects, Neutron will take a highly selective approach. The company will seek a majority equity stake of at least 75% in a handful of the most attractive projects, ensuring it is fully incentivised to play an active role in the development and management of each venture.
Launch Team:
Maz Darvish, Chief Executive – As co-founder and former CEO of Internet Business Group, Maz has significant experience in building and developing internet businesses. In 2000, he led IBG through its flotation on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange and as the Group’s Chief Executive he was responsible for managing its international expansion into the US and Europe, until its sale to TMN in 2008. In addition to his track record as an internet entrepreneur, Maz has a thorough understanding of M&A and the fund raising process.
Yolanda Pedrosa, Marketing Director - Having spent several years as the head of media for Internet Business Group, Yolanda is an online marketing guru. Her achievements include the search engine marketing, driving the growth of Sweatband.com (an online retail brand) as well as developing highly successful methodologies to enable the syndication of product information across multiple websites for companies in the travel sector.
William Breitholtz, Operations Director - William brings over a decade of experience project, business and commercial management across a variety of sectors, ranging from food distribution to photographic retailing.
Mike Hinchcliffe, Technical Director - With over 10 years of experience in software development, Mike has been responsible for the development of some of the highest traffic websites in the UK such as AffiliateFuture.
Commenting on Neutron’s launch, CEO Maz Darvish said: “I’m over the moon to have such a talented and well regarded team in place for the launch of Neutron Ventures. We are putting their full capabilities in to action straight away and hope to be in a position to announce the first of our new ventures in early August.”
